Sculpture of “Tombili”, Istanbul’s famous street cat to be inaugurated on October 4

Tombili (means “fat” or “fatty” in Turkish, in cute sense) was a street cat living in Kadikoy, a district of Istanbul at the Anatolian side. He became a social media phenomenon after after being photographed posing on a sidewalk. His iconic photo appeared on the viral site 9GAG. Unfortunately, Tombili died after a month-long illness on August 1, 2016.

According to the Guinness World Records (The Guinness Book of Records until 1988), there are four official world records which belong to cats. These are “Longest domestic cat (living)”, “Loudest purr by a domestic cat”, “Longest jump by a cat”, and “Most tricks performed by a cat in one minute”.

How do cats see humans

How do cats see humans? Some say they see their human as another big cat who dominates her/him, others say they see us as servants. Some sources say yes, they see us as a big cat, but not as the dominator (who dominate them), just a big, dumb cat who even doesn’t have basic hunting skills. I even read that they see us as inferiors. But which of them are true?

My answer to that question is: since they can’t tell it to us, because they have no language to tell, nobody can exactly know. But I have a strong feeling that the explanations above are not true.

Why do cats afraid of cucumbers?

Well, actually they do not. The cats definitely don’t afraid of cucumbers. Probably you’ve seen those “funny” videos on the internet. The cats in these videos are just startled by the jerks who sneak up behind them and place unfamiliar large objects there while they’re busy eating. You’d also be startled if you turned around and suddenly there was a traffic barrel or palm tree right behind you that wasn’t there two seconds earlier. See the video I took below. You can see clearly my cats do not afraid of a cucumber. In fact, they play with it.

World’s oldest living cat is 30-year-old Scooter, according to the Guinness World Records book

According to the Guinness World Records book, Scooter, a 30-year-old Siamese from Mansfield, Texas, is officially the new oldest living cat. 30 cat years is the equivalent of approximately 136 human years!

An unusual friendship between a goat and a tiger

In the Primorsky safari park in Russia, a goat had been served to a Siberian tiger (also known as Amur tiger) as a meal. But he (now his name is Timur) behaved so bravely, and the predator became his friend instead of eating him. Now the tiger and the goat are friends and live in the same cage. They sleep, walk and even eat together. Watch this amazing video!
